Seeing the Flood Devastation First Hand

I have spent the last few weeks travelling across the electorate viewing first hand the devastation flooding has had on the community. From Wallanthery to Moulamein, Deniliquin and Wentworth, the 2022 floods have been unprecedented.

Being able to get out and talk to our flood affected towns and regions has enabled me to advocate for financial assistance and push for outcomes, recovery from the 2022 floods will require ongoing support as we move into the rebuilding phase.

Tourism, business and agriculture have all been hit particularly hard and there are many lessons to be learnt from the management of this disaster, particularly around the importance of utilising local knowledge.

I will be working hard to ensure we recover as quickly as possible.
