Have your say on the future of the Deniliquin cattle yards

The future of Deniliquin's iconic Cattle Yards are under threat.

Edward River Council recently made the decision to close the Cattle Yards, investing funds in the sheep saleyards instead.

A number of farmers and livestock agents were not happy with this decision. They asked me to attend a meeting with them and Council, which I did in  mid-April.

During the meeting, Council agreed to review their decision.

Council have released their draft saleyards strategy report. It provide analysis of the saleyards performance and options for the future.

Click here to download a copy of this report. You can call also the Council on 03 58983000 to obtain a hard copy.

If you want to save the Cattle Yards, you now have the chance to provide your feedback and ideas to Council.

Opportunities for feedback will be open for at least 28 days. Email: council@edwardriver.nsw.gov.au
